Putting a Tax Refund to Good Use

Ever thought of using a portion of your tax refund to sponsor a child through ChildFund?

Tax refunds for Americans average $2,200. For just $336 of that refund, you can sponsor a child for a year through ChildFund International.

We will use the $28 sponsorship contribution per month to help a child grow up healthy and thrive. Sponsorship dollars may fund an education, nourishing meals, clean water, medical care or create opportunities for children to play, develop and learn.

Through the exchange of letters and pictures, you’ll develop a meaningful relationship with your sponsored child and his or her family. Plus, you’ll receive regular updates about the child’s progress.

Child sponsorship leads to sustainable communities in parts of the world hit hardest by poverty. The United Nations estimates about 2 billion people in the world live in poverty.

That number is expected to grow.

By the end of 2010, 89 million more people will live in poverty due to the economic crisis, according to the World Bank.

So, how will you use your tax refund this year?
